Meditate day and night!

I can say that I have completely lost focus on heavenly things. You have to shamelessly admit your shortcomings and move forward. As I lay in bed tonight I’m praying and asking God what’s missing. I don’t want another sermon. I don’t want to read another Christian blog. And as I searched my heart my answer was simple, RELATIONSHIP! How awful do I feel to let life take focus from Him when He gave me life.

So as I pray God puts Psalms on my heart. I begin to think of David and his genuine worship and heart for God. I want that heart of worship. I open the book and this is the scripture I read.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭1:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

How do you meditate on Gods word?

Meditation is pondering the Word in our hearts, preaching it to our own souls, and personally applying it to our own lives and circumstances. It is how we sanctify our thinking and bring it into submission to Christ—taking every thought captive. Paul tells us

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect (Romans 12:2).

It is a discipline that takes time and intention, but one that brings great benefit to the soul. We need to carve out time to lay hold of the truth of God’s Word.

So I reset and ask God for forgiveness, I repent of my sins God and I turn my heart and focus back towards you! Without you in the center of it all I can’t thrive. Thank you for your mercies that are brand new!
